What is Flo?

Flo is a mental training and visualization app built specifically for cyclists. It offers guided audio sessions to help you improve confidence, focus, performance, and recovery using the same mindset tools used by professional athletes.

Who is Flo For?

Flo is designed for cyclists of all levels—from casual riders to competitive racers—who want to improve the mental side of their performance.

How is Flo different from meditation apps like Calm or Headspace?

Unlike general meditation apps, Flo is built around the specific mental demands of cycling—handling pre-race nerves, pushing through climbs, sprinting under pressure, and recovering mentally after hard sessions. Flo was made BY cyclists FOR cyclists.

Does Flo use hypnosis or is it meditation?

Flo uses a combination of techniques, including visualization, mental rehearsal, light trance and breathwork. it’s targeted performance mental training using structured, proven, mental processes. 

What if I’ve never used visualization before?

No problem. The app guides you step-by-step. Many riders find the sessions surprisingly easy to follow—even if they’ve never done anything like this before. The processes used in Flo are naturally occurring in our minds, we just provide a structured process to get the best results. 

Can I use Flo while riding?

Some sessions are designed to be listened to on the turbo trainer to train you to dig deeper, access flow, manage effort etc so you can use those skills you learn out on the road. The rest are best done seated or lying down pre- or post-ride for maximum effect. We would not recommend listening to any audio while cycling outdoors. 

How long are the sessions?

As cyclists ourselves we know training can take up a lot of personal time and there's no pint us designing sessions that are too long to fit around workouts, rides and everyday life. Withj That in mind we've kept most sessions around 15-20 minutes and they range from short 10-minute pre-race confidence boosters to deeper 20-minute visualizations. 

Do I need headphones?

Headphones are recommended for full focus and immersion, especially for sessions which feature more relaxation although depending on your environment they aren't compulsory

Is there a free trial?

Everyone who signs up to Flo gets a 7 day free trial before being charged and you can cancel at any time before then in the 'Subscription' area of the Flo app. 

How much does it cost?

Flo offers both monthly and annual subscriptions, as well as our strictly limited lifetime option with forever pricing for founding members. 

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time through account settings in the app. 

Will visualization really help my cycling performance?

Yes—visualization is widely used by elite cyclists and athletes to improve confidence, focus, and execution. The brain doesn’t always distinguish between imagined and real action, meaning visualization can reinforce motor patterns, boost readiness, and build mental toughness. While we cannot guarantee results, many of these sessions are based on the years of  1:1 work with cyclists who have got some amazing results. 

Can Flo help with race nerves or confidence issues?

Absolutely. There are specific sessions for managing pre-race anxiety, boosting confidence, and staying calm under pressure. The is also a 10 minute pre-race confidence booster that you can listen to while warming up or waiting to start.

Can I use this if I have anxiety or depression?

If you are experiencing any form of clinical anxiety, depression, or psychiatric illness, you should consult a medical professional before using Flo. Flo is not a replacement for professional treatment.

What kind of sessions are available?

Flo includes sessions for pre-race confidence, sprinting power, technical skills (like cornering and descending), post-ride recovery, flow state, pain control, mental resilience, and more.

Will more sessions be added over time?

Yes! Absolutely! This is just the beginning of something incredibly exciting. New sessions and structured training programs will be added regularly, especially based on feedback from our early community.

Can I request sessions or features?

Yes—we welcome input from the cycling community. As a user, you can suggest content ideas and we would love to hear your thoughts!

Can I use Flo if I dont race?

Definitely. Flo is for anyone who rides and wants to improve their mental clarity, motivation, and confidence—even if you want to get the most out of club rides or sportives!

Will it work if I’m a beginner cyclist?

Yes. Visualization is just as powerful for beginners. In fact, it’s a great way to fast-track your development by mentally rehearsing skills before you ride.
